Yes, we were unsuccessful in obtaining a trademark for that name and decided to repackage and change the name to DOCTOR HOY'S Natural Pain Relief Gel. We also added arnica montana extract and removed the color. Other than that, the product is exactly the same.

What is DOCTOR HOY's Natural Pain Relief Gel?

DOCTOR HOY'S is a cutting edge formula that uses the latest technical advancements in chemistry. Our menthol and camphor formula is cool when applied, then gradually warms to provide comforting pain relief from soreness caused by overworked muscles and inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, sprains, backache, joints and strains. The combined action of the classic natural pain relievers - Menthol and Camphor (as well as skin conditioners Vitamin E, Witch Hazel, glycerin and fucogel) make this a truly unique product.

What are the ingredients of DOCTOR HOY'S Natural Pain Relief Gel?

Active Ingredients:
Menthol 5% and Camphor 5% are the two active ingredients found in our pain relief product. Based on clinical studies and wide usage, the FDA has recognized both Menthol and Camphor as safe and effective OTC (over-the-counter) drugs. Menthol is a natural white crystal obtained from peppermint oil. It has many medicinal uses – we use it as a pain reliever. Camphor is an aromatic natural crystalline compound obtained from the wood or leaves of the camphor tree using steam distillation. It too has many medicinal uses – we use it for both its pain relief and cooling properties.

Inactive Ingredients and their benefits:
Arnica Montana: For centuries this natural herb has been used for joints and muscles. Many homeopathic practicioners use Arnica and we also feel it is important in a health care regime.

Witch Hazel extract (hamamelis virginiana): A natural extract from the leaves of the plant. It is an astringent. It softens skin and has emollient properties.

Zanthoxylum alatum (sezchuan pepper): This natural extract protects the skin from irritation.

Fucogel: This is a natural skin moisturizer and helps skin retain a silky feel.

Glycerin: Helps the skin retain moisture.

Vitamin E: The green Visible Vitamin E in is a natural moisturizer. When the Pain Gel is rubbed into your skin the Visible Vitamin E vanishes leaving the beneficial antioxidant on your skin.

How do I use DOCTOR HOY’S Natural Pain Rlief Gel?

Children under 2 years of age: Consult a doctor before use.

Adults and children 2 years and older: Apply gel to affected area NO more than 4 times daily. Apply generously to affected and surrounding areas. Use 1 application for minor pain, 2 applications for medium pain, and 3 applications for severe pain. Allow gel to dry between applications. Please note that for best results the pain gel should be applied generously and massaged firmly.

Warning - If you have sensitive skin we recommend applying the product to a small area before normal use. As a precaution, it is wise to wash your hands after each application.

For external use only. If swallowed, call a physician or Poison Control Center immediately.
Keep out of reach of children.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucus membranes.
Do not use with other topical ointments, sprays, creams or liniments.
Do not use with heating pads or heating devices.
Do not bandage tightly.
If you are pregnant or nursing a baby consult a physician before use.
Consult a physician before using on children under 2 years of age.
Keep product away from wounds, damaged, broken or irritated skin. Rinse thoroughly with water if product comes in contact with any of these areas.
If condition worsens or if symptoms do not clear up within a week, or if symptoms reoccur within a few days of clearing up stop use and consult a physician.

How does DOCTOR HOY'S work?

According to the Food and Drug Administration, our active ingredients are listed as topical or external analgesics. Topical analgesics are medications that are applied topically or externally and help reduce or eliminate pain. The active ingredients work by depressing the cutaneous sensory receptors, which lowers the pain impulse sent from the nerve endings to the brain.

How should DOCTOR HOY'S be applied?

For best results, apply a generous amount to the affected and surrounding areas. For example, if the front of the knee is the trouble area, apply DOCTOR HOY'S around the entire knee. This includes above the knee (about mid-thigh area) to the mid-calf area, all around the leg – both front and back. Though it may seem like overkill, pain has a way of migrating and it is important that the gel come in contact with the nerve endings sending pain messages to the brain. Often these nerve endings are not located at the point of the actual pain. If possible, massage the gel into the skin until it starts to evaporate and dry.

How long will I feel relief?

Generally, expect DOCTOR HOY'S to last from 1 to 5 hours depending on the density of tissue and the location of your pain. The more tissue available to absorb the gel, the longer relief you will experience.

How often should I use DOCTOR HOY'S?

Use it whenever you have pain. Apply once for minor pain, twice for medium pain and three times for severe pain. NOTE: Do not use DOCTOR HOY'S more than four times daily.

How long will the scent be noticeable?

As DOCTOR HOY’S is quickly absorbed, and the gel evaporates, the scent of the Menthol and Camphor will dissipate. Generally, it takes about 10 to 15 minutes for the scent to completely fade away.

Will it irritate my skin?

Very rarely does DOCTOR HOY'S cause skin irritation. We have added skin-softening agents to help protect and hydrate the epidermal layer. However, if you have sensitive skin we recommend applying the product to a small area before normal use.

No, it will not. We use no oil in our product and it is water-based. This allows it to be easily absorbed into the skin leaving no residue.
